Excellent Processor
I have just bought one of these and it is absolutely amazing. Running Ableton 6 (music studio software) on my old Intel 2.0Ghz processor I could run a composition with 4 channels of midi with effects and then hit 100% CPU. The same composition on the new processor uses 4% CPU -it barely ticks over! The processor also runs at around 32 degrees C with the out-of-the-box heat sink. Great processor, great value for money.
Excellent CPU
I built a new system from MD around this chip and have to say that it all worked like a charm. I am running the chip @3Ghz with no problems and very reasonable temps (air cooled with Artic Freezer 7). When compared to the price of the QX6800 for example, this is excellent value for money.
Intel CPU Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600
Got this cpu to replace my e6700 all i can say is it flies very nice chip 4 cores running at a nice 3ghz temps are 45 idle 58 load fast delivery from microdirect :) excellent
Buy today!
I'm so glad I decided to get the g0 step version. Its so fast anyhow, but I was very surprised with temps :o With a Zalman 9700, my CPU is 31 degrees C idle, and 37 degrees C when working in my Antec 900 case. Haven't tried to overclock yet. I can't wait to run 3D software!
Outstanding Kit!
I built a machine with 2x Geil PC6400 2x1gb chips, a Q6600 and an Asus P5N32E-SLI motherboard. Outstanding machine.
Very nice
Got this running XP\Vista and Fedora 7 with 4GB of DDR2 6400 -runs very well even when using loads of applications. Cool chip
WOW
Wow couldnt belIeve the performance difference when comparing to my old 1.8ghz celeron. Can now run all my Video Editing with no slow down and Graphic applications at really high settings. excellent performace A MUST BUY!!!
SUPERB
If you are thinking about buying this CPU, go ahead and do it. I upgraded from an AMD 3400+ and all I can say is it was the best purchase I have made this year hands down. At an excellent value for money this CPU is a great buy. Highly recommended!
Fantastic
If there is one processer you would like it's got to be this one. I thought Carl Lewis was quick, I thought again. Excellent value for money, excellent processor.
Intel Q6600 Quad Core G0 Stepping
Bought this chip to replace Intel duel core 6850.Overclocked it to 3Ghz using FSB of 333Hz using standard Intel cooler and standard voltage. This chip is fast and represents great value.I'm running Vista at the moment and the extra cores seem to make a difference to Vistas performance.
Wow.
amazing cpu, upgraded from a 1.3ghz athlon so i'm bound to be impressed but this cpu completely eliminates having to wait for your computer to do something, it's near instantaneous. INCREDIBLY easy to overclock just by increasing FSB speed to 333 in my case which upped it to 3ghz. not bad at all for a four core 2.4ghz £160 CPU if you've been thinking about getting one, do it. you will not be disappointed.
Excellent processor!
I bought this as an upgrade to the D945 and noticed the difference straight away. If you're going to o/c it though, buy the ASUS Silent Knight II to go with it - only £30 and for that it runs both cooler and quieter.
Great Value
Straight into the BIOS, up the FSB to 1333 - 3.06GHz, all on default voltages. Easiest thing in the world. At less than £100 you can't go wrong
Awesome! haha
Got this a while back, forgot to write a review... It's so amazing though - 4 cores running @ 2.4 is a big step from my old P4 @ 3.2. Instantaneous application loading - you click, it opens :-) If you haven't got one, GET ONE!!!
