Extending Corsair’s legendary reputation in performance and quality, the new Corsair VX family of power supplies features the industry’s most efficient power management and ultra-quiet design for mainstream users. Unlike most power supplies in the market, the Corsair VX incorporates a single +12V power rail that delivers continuous power under heavy loads. This conservative design ensures reliable operation in today’s most demanding system configurations and adds compatibility for future platforms. The unique combination of rock solid performance and incredible value puts the Corsair VX family of power supplies in a class of its own. Ideal for home theater PCs and ENERGY STAR PCs, the VX line maximizes energy savings and minimum noise generation thanks to double-forward switching circuitry design. Each Corsair VX power supply is backed with an industry-leading 5-year warranty and 24/7 on-demand customer service.

Quiet, and effective
I got this power supply today after my Antec decided to flash bang on me. Fitted it and switched it on. First impressions; very quiet, and no louder than my Antec (which I was worried about). I can't really hear it above my system components which are whisper quiet anyway (5/5) Of course, for the price, its not modular, so you have to hide power connectors you do not use (there are quite a few), under any crevace you can find in your case, but thats not really a problem. Price was a bit hefty and not what I expected (550 watts come in at around the £55-60 mark, so for an extra 100 watts, an extra £20), but looking at other power supplies at this wattage, and coming from a good manufacturer, its about on par with others (4/5) *Remember* Power supplies are the most important part of a computer so don't skimp on them. A good power supply will determine the difference between a computer that works after one gives out (great surge protection), or doesn't, and should last l
