agp is not dead !
the trusty agp bus has been around for 12 years now since intel released it in 1997 and over the years theres been some excellent cards in this bus, these include the radeon 9250/9550 and the geforce fx5500,which all are too slow these days but excellent in their days then there was the radeon x800 series and the geforce 6800ultra which were awesome when released and capable of blinding frame rates however alot of people thought the agp bus had gone until sapphire released the radeon HD3850,this is a amazingly fast card and will run all of todays games at high detail and resolution my previous card the geforce 7900gs(agp) scored a respectable 14,612 on 3dmark03 however this was blown out of the water with the HD3850 which scored a massive 25,891 3dmarks,nearlly twice thats of the powerful geforce 7900gs as for the HD3850 specifications it has a 668mhz core clock and 512mb of gddr3 memory clocked at 828mhz(1656mhz ddr effective
Delivering Mayhem to the Mainstream Long thought to be the market of the conservative gamer, the affordable mainstream products, which use to suffer only adequate performance, now experiences a frame rate revival with the SAPPHIRE HD 3850. Built upon ...

| Reviewed By | Simon Crisp |
| Summary | Proof that AGP is far from dead |
| Pros | |
| Cons | |
| Verdict | Sapphire has used a single-slot cooler on the HD3850 AGP, with a passive heatsink over the power regulators. The AGP bus can't supply the voltage required by the RV670 core (this uses a eight-pin PCI Express power connector), although a six-pin cable ... |
