Description

The Intel® Core™ i7 processor family represents the next step in processor energy efficiency, performance, and dynamic scalability. Designed from the ground up to take advantage of hafnium-based Intel® 45nm hi-k metal gate silicon technology, Intel® Core™ i7 processors will also be the first to introduce Intel® QuickPath technology. Intel QuickPath technology is a point-to-point connection—there is no single bus that all the processors must use and contend with to reach memory and I/O. This improves scalability and eliminates the competition between processors for bus bandwidth. In addition, Intel® Core™ i7 processors feature Intel® Hyper-Threading technology, an integrated memory controller and Intel® Turbo Boost technology.

Outstanding

This is an excellent product, and by far the quickest CPU i have ever used, even quicker than high end Core 2 extreme chips many areas. Have upgraded from a 3.2Ghz x2 AMD athlon chip, and it couldn't touch this chip even at the 2.66Ghz stock speed.Stock Cooler is relatively quiet but only any good if you are going to be leaving it at stock speeds (will get warm under full load). threading and multitasking is awesome too and works well with photo shop and games etc. For Benchmarkers out there expect 3Dmark06 in excess of 15000 points @ stock with GTX 260 and tripple channel DDR3 (running @ 1066 due to odd cpu ram ratio straps on P6T deluxe). If you are thinking of buying, do it, you wont regret it! Also outstanding service from MD, as i have come to expect.

The “budget” sector of Intel's LGA1366 lineup, the Core i7 920 has the lowest frequency speed of all of the Nehalem chips, yet still offers performance above and beyond that of Intel's older LGA 775 processors. Offering the same Hyper Threading and ...
